Here's how to solve this problem if you don't have enough golfers:
Assume a tournament with 100 golfers and you want Tournament Manager to automatically build 25 foursomes, but only 99 sign up to play. On the Sign Up sheet the first two golfers are called "Blind Draw" (one female the other male). In this example, you would signup a "Blind Draw" to play, so the total number of golfers is 100. When you automatically build the foursomes, one foursome will have a "Blind Draw". This will be in essence a 3-somes. If it is a "team" event, pick a random golfer (blind draw) on another team and input the score player's handicap and score into the blind draw, so team standings will be correct. To give a blind draw a handicap, double-click the blind draw and enter the handicap.
Tip: If you have multiple "blind draws" you can also "lock" the "blind draws" on different teams to assure that two blinds never play together. To lock a player on a team, check the lock option in the "lock" column or double-click the golfer and mark the Lock on Current Team option.
Note: If you choose not to do the above, you can also manually assign a golfer to any team by dragging and dropping the golfer on the correct team, or double clicking him/her and assigning the team number you want him/her to appear on.
Here's how to solve this problem if you have too many golfers:
Assume a tournament with 100 golfers and you want Tournament Manager to automatically build 25 foursomes, but 101 sign up to play. You want one team to be a 5-some. After you automatically build 25 foursomes...one golfer will be left out. To manually assign the "leftover" golfer to any team....drag and drop the golfer onto a team, or double click him/her and assign the team number you want him/her to appear on. This team will now have 5 golfers.
Tip: You can control who is left out by signing up the last player (player 101) AFTER automatically building 25 foursomes with the 100 "signed up" players.
